IF I WERE PRESIDENT

Here are some more thoughts submitted by visitors on what they would do if they were president.

• If I Were President...  (or Prime Minister being Canadian)
  First off - cut the Gas Taxes - the price of gas is too high and already causing lots of issues. In addition I would place a maximum price growth based on A) the price of Oil and B) the availability of Oil.
  Next would be a better education program for special needs students. The reason for this is that many special needs students can't finish school due to a lack of support.
  Next - revamp the Medicare program (or in some countries make one) to remove the 2 tier system that is developing. Also a pharmacare program is necessary.
  Last but not least - research alternative fuel resources.
  Those things require a lot of money so where can they come from? First would go many tax exemptions to larger companies as they don't need them. Next would be an increase on luxury goods because those are not obligatory for survival and Canada/USA are rich countries meaning that there's a large venue potential there.
  Several other changes would be necessary for the necessary revenu.

• I would begin proceedings for a trial of those who insulted and misled Americans during the last two administrations and introduce an amendment of impeachment after the fact with evidence acquired by what ever legal procedures possible.
  I would insist that the trial be public and all concerned with it be verified as clear of past involvement with the Bush disasterous years.
  There would be a return of all financial rewards concerned made with a public apology to all humanity followd by a 30 year sentence of confinement in Bush's home state with no possible parole.
  I would assure that all his family members be excluded from the results because they had absolutely nothing to do with his inept corruptive ways of leading this country.

• I would make sure that christianity stays in this country.  That Christains would stand up and be counted.  That babies would not be aborted and some other means of fuel could be used instead of oil.

• I would change a lot of the rules in schools because the hours and days per week are outrageous. I would make the school system much easier too. I would also make gas Illegal for everyone except people who work for the gov't, hospital EMT's, police officers and delivery trucks until a new form of energy is able to be used. By doing this I hope that the people of the U.S.A would stop using gas and stop hurting the ozone layer and the environment. I would make electric energy, solar energy, used cooking oil, bike riding and walking the only forms of legal transportation. We need to stop global warming and the pollution problem NOW!

• 1.  Bring home the troops, and put them on the borders.  If we can over run a country on the other side of the world, we can secure our borders.
  2.  Anyone wanting to get in is welcome.  But, they must do four years active military and two years reserve.  While in the service, you will learn English, You will not get pregnant or get anyone else pregnant.

• I had worked all my life, I now haven't any children in school. But still to this day I have to pay school taxes. A  retired person should not have too pay all their Social Securty on taxes. That would be my most inportant thing any our boys where home from war and back on the good old U.S.A/soil.

• Raise the taxes on the rich and lower them for the lower paid.
  Lower the income of ALL politicians. Lets get some dedicated people in here instead of money seekers and show bizz folk.
  Set a level on income... the rich are far TOO rich these days. Earn over a certain amount (include corporations etc...) give it to the poor.

• I would kick the UN out of our country, even if we had to buy the building and the land, and I would suggest they move to a middle eastern country where the rich oil sheiks can support them and they would be VERY close to the action.  Those namby-pambies need a real awakening as to what is really going on in the world.

• If I were President, I would make an executive order to drill for oil at ANWAR, drill for shale in the continental US and drill offshore.  Once our domestic  output is online, I would then diminish the amount of oil we would purchase from OPEC, and completely cut Venezuela out.  Then see how fast OPEC goes under.

• I would, by executive order, begin drilling in ANWAR and off the coasts. I would invest in coal to oil technology and stop subsidizing inefficient and relatively useless energy sources like Wind, solar and ethanol, until they can compete with oil without the subsidies. I would declare a state of marshal law in Ca, Ma, Or and any other state that has been taken over by activist judges, executing any judge that has ever overturned the will of the people, then I would subsidize nuclear power plants and encourage any companies interested to further develop our nuclear power resources... • I would stop taxes on fuel and cigarrettes, Make companies in the US pay higher wages to their employees, do away with temporary agencies in the workplace, and incorporate a universal health and dental care plan for every American. Somehow, Fuel prices need to come down, When it takes almost 50% of your paycheck to drive  back and forth to work, you know America is really screwed up. I would learn to budget in the whitehouse just like us underpaid workers have to do. Instead of taxing us to death, learn to scrape your pennies like we do.

• I would get our troops out of harms way all over the world.  Start focusing on the American people.  I would put money and jobs back into the USA instead of spending it on wars and third world countries that need to get off there behinds and do something for them self instead of all my hard working money and taxes that go to them.  That goes for the USA also!  If you live in the USA all people will be required to speak ENGLISH!

• I would stop the alcohol and make sure they get punish as much as the people that do drugs, for alcohol is worse I think then the drinks for its allowed and so people get away with more garbage.

• First off, I would enact a flat tax. Everyone pays a flat rate on what they make. Say, 9%. No more big time tax breaks for billionaires. If you make $30,000.00 a year, you get taxed at 9% on that amount, if you make 3 million a year, you get taxed 9% on that amount. Then no more tax breaks for big business that takes it's factories and ships them to places overseas. You want tax breaks for your big company, then keep the people that enable you to have those tax breaks employed.Then I would make it manatory for prisoners in our prisons to go back to the old fashioned chain gangs. Some of these prisons are set up like dang country clubs. HELLO the people there are there for commiting crimes, not on Vacation. And my list goes on and on :)

• I would declare every Friday, "Friendship Day." Where you would show kindness to those that you wouldn't normally talk to - you'd reach out to others that need some extra support, as well. By doing so, the relations in our own country will greatly increase.
  
  I would make Welfare temporary, as some people are taking advantage of it and are actually living off of it, which is not the purpose of Welfare. By doing so, we will save our country money, more people will be looking for jobs and others that need short-term help will have a greater chance of doing so.
  
  I will bring all of our troops home from Iraq - we are intervening in a stalemate religious war that has been going on for thousands of years. We need to focus our military within our own borders to crack down on illegal immigration and help keep our own country safe.
  
  I will decrease trade with China to open up more factory and blue collar jobs within the United States. By doing so, we'll not only heighten our economy, but we'll be able to offer more jobs to the jobless. We can also coax the current illegal immigrants in our country to become citizens so that we can offer them the jobs as well, thereby, paying them more than in the past.
  
  I'll implement free medical insurance programs for all children under the age of 18. If their parents don't work because they live off of welfare cause  they're trying to live the "easy life," then their children should not have to suffer because of their choices. The parents must get a job in order to receive medical insurance.
  
  The pledge of allegiance will be said in all schools, as it is a call of honor to our country; our country was built on Christianity when the Pilgrims started colonizing the America's, therefore, our main religion is Christianity.
  
  Foreigners that seek citizenship must learn how to speak English; they may not rebuke against the education system to start having educators speak their language for their own benefit.
  
  There will be more auto-plants in the U.S. that make energy-efficient cars, therefore increasing the demand and cutting the price for consumers so that anyone can buy a hybrid car economically.
  
  I would be a Moderate Liberal President, therefore having views on both sides so as not to be biased.

• I am not an American. America has contributed much to the free world, for which many of us are grateful.
  
  Some things disturb me about the way things are, especially in their internation dealings.
  
  1) If the US cherishes democratic traditions, then how could it be fair that 300 million persons alone elect a leader that dictates the way things should go for the other 6,000 million persons on earth?
  
  2) Just for the sake of imagination (humor me on this) lets be crazy and assume the highly unlikely occurence that the US could be wrong in their approach to an internation crisis (after all the most perfect and infallible humans alive are part of the US government) - who on earth could draw their attention to it?
  
  3) Because of its might and influence is there any real recourse for an individual, group, or country who feels they have been wronged by US policy?
  
  4) Because the reality of the situation is that The US is the most powerful nation on earth, and does dictate much of international affairs -do US citizens recognize their obligation to represent the rest of the people of world by questioning and holding their Government accountable? Imagine the situation for the rest of the world if there were a weak and gullible US electorate, and a Government with its own agenda, who would speak for the rest of us who are affected by US policy, but have no vote to change it?

• 1) Immediately cease all violent actions toward other countries.
  2) Immediately end all useless government programs and use the money to feed, clothe, house, educate, and give medical and dental care to each and every citizen of the United States.
  3) Immediately appoint cabinets to investigate and supply needed aid to the citizens of other countries who are in desperate need of food and shelter, and other necessary help.
  4) Immediately invoke an international round table to figure out how to establish world peace.
  5) Immediately order alternative fuel as mandatory.

  8) Raise the minimum wage.

  11) Give prison management back to the states instead of big prison management corporations.
  12) give amnesty to all illegal aliens in the country now.  fortify the border to prevent more from coming in.  make it easier for immigrants to come in legally. sanction companies employing aliens illegally, or close them down.
  13) Immediately close down the 3 meat packers in the United States which are slaughtering horses.
  14) Immediately demand an accounting of the upper 10% richest families in this country.
  15) Pass a bill declaring "The New World Order" and everyone belonging to it and its secret organizations to be subversive and traitorous to the United States and its constitution and order them detained and imprisoned.

• I would take charge of world elections and ensure that the correct leaders of each country get elected as per the peoples wishes.  I would try to enforce each country to be the best that they can, therefor reducings people nessecity to leave there family and county.  Of course anyone can live where ever they want as long as they are tolerant and respectful to the customs of the country the live in
  
  I would preach for a more tolorant approach to each individual cutoms and religion, non tolarance would be a crime.
  
  I would build a long water pipe line supply to  countries in drought.
  
  I would ensure the wealth is shared.  Those with excess vulgar money ie celebs who dont mind spending millions on the same hermes bag over and over again, would be taxed to the hilt, they would still be able to live the rich life but they would pay for it and maybe only purchase 2 of the same bags in a year.
  
  people like paris hilton and richie would be in serious trouble for acting in a disgusting way, they would be fined for corrupting young children, have some respect girls.
  
  I would build more railway lines around the world.
  
  it would be an offence to litter.  i would devise a clean up programme for each country and impliment minimum standerds to adhere to.
  
  I would tax plastic bags, to reduce the amount of rubbish created by them.
  
  I would give a monthly allowance  for each child in the world.  people who have assets of one million would nto recieve this allowance, however they could choose to donate it to a more needy child/family.
  
  if you recieve unemployment benifit you will have to complete a course that would generally lead to employment or further education.
  
  I would improve all schools around the world and have minimum standers to adhere to when it comes to school buildings.
  
  Men would get 3 months maternity leave.
  
  I would encourage younger children to become entrepreneurs.
  
  People who offend would have to go and have therapy with a doctor phil type person.
  
  sex offence would be the worse crime and offenders where it has been proven with out doubt that they are guilty would be castrated. and also serve a lenghtly scentence.
  
  littering would be an offence.
  
  I would have a disaster fund set up for each country.

• I would end the war on drugs and arrest everyone that works for the DEA, abolish the federal reserve, IRS and income tax, pardon everyone that has been arrested for owning anything illegal.  I would then move to fire everyone working for the government that is a member of the Illuminati, Church of Scientology, or any other secretive groups that oppose freedom.  I would put an end the the brutality of our current boot camps and start treating people that join the military with respect.  The military would get new black uniforms, more weapons training and less PT.  All sadists would be removed from government jobs, including drill instructors that have a history of being cruel.  Muslims would no longer be allowed to enter the US because they oppose freedom.  I would launch a full investigation into who was really behind the attacks of 911 and have the culprits executed.  Eventually everyone that had supported the war on drugs would be arrested and forced into prison industries to make up for the damage they have caused this nation.  To ensure that the Illuminati does not have me killed like JFK, I would start putting Libertarians in high positions of power.  I would replace a lot of the secret service, FBI, and police force with people that have Libertarian leaning views.  Most of the people working for the CIA would be fired and replaced with libertarians.  I would finally create a Libertarian Stealth Division  (a well armed, government funded group that would insure that I could not be overthrown by the forces that oppose freedom)

• My first official acts would be to start the procedure to charge the entire Bush administration, with treason and/or war crimes.  Then I would work toward getting rid of the electoral college making it an election of popular vote, rather than having  groups disenfranchised in every district and state. And go back to paper ballots, with pen and paper voting with duplicates, and two separate ballot boxes one for the original, and one for the copy.  I would once again push for true separation of church and state, and refocus the division between the three branches of government.  Corporations would again pay taxes, and people in poverty would have healthcare.  The infrastructure would again be focused on and jobs would be available for all who wanted to work.  Questions, Comments?  email ok. weldpro@awmarker.com

Your article contains little grammetical mistakes such as, it is if i were a president, "what would i have done ". and not what would i do. whenever we talk about past imagination, means, a sort of event that has not taken place in past but if it were there inpast, we use for this is : subject + would have + verb 3rd form. like I would have done. not i would do. • Nursing homes would not cost the family a penny.  The government would supply all medical coverage for those who work.  Prisons would be like "The Farms."  All street construction would be done by them.  There would be no comforts.  And their families would pay (if necc.) for their "stay."  The elderly who are forced to choose between buying food or buying their medication would be reimbersed for all past purchases and started on the new medical coverage plan...
  
  All scholarship/grant programs will be advertised to full capacity.  Education is very important.  School teachers need a raise...BIG TIME!!!  Our gas/oil resourses will be used somewhat if not fully...

  Second order of business would be to abolish the federal income tax. Why? First, it's my money not the government's. Second, this would eliminate the power base of our elected officials. No more prok barrel programs. Initiate a sales tax of 25% so that everyone pays what they are able. When the rich buy their expensive cars and homes they will pay thier fair share. The rest of us will no likewise.
  
  Third order of business, If Iran does go forth with an offensive nuclear program it will only have to motivations; eliminate Israel and the the USA. Who are we kidding? Thsi culture thinks nothing of lying. I would not risk anymore of our men and women overseas. Let's remind the Arab nations of Hiroshima. President Truman did the right. He fully realized the cost in terms of lives we would lose in the invasion of Japan in order to end the war. He simply took it to them through the path of least resistance. I would do the same to Iran. Give them a warning and very short timetable to compy and then nuke one of thier major cities  and/or installations. Believe me, with our borders secured they will get the hint.

• I'd pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan and find an alternative energy source that's clean and safe, then they'd be no reason to remain there.  It might also help alleviate the terrorism problems by building some bridges in the Middle East.
