Submission 200

  • I would require everyone to pay something in order to have medical care even if it was a "dollar" . It seems people who make choices of smoking or shooting at each other or doing drugs get the same kind of care as people who are working and their medical premiums are going up. I would not want it set up like Canada because or Europe but something along the lines everyone can get medical care with out it costing your first born child. I would rather they take it out of Federal or state taxes something madatory when they file their taxes that way its collected each year. without fail.

Submission 196

  • If I became president….There are many things that need to be done…..

    •       I would take stock of our current budget/expenditures then what, where and why we are collecting revenue. I would attempt to correct the waste in government and lower or eliminate unneeded taxation. Pork spending and earmarks would be done away with.
    •       I would start an advisory panel of high profile individuals made of political parties, economic situation and demographic to assist me with decisions affecting real people in America
    •       I would seal the boarder and attempt to revamp the immigration laws allowing for the legal and needed immigration into this country based on economic need, skill and situation
    •       I would have town halls with the American people to find out what they need and desire, government needs to stop “knowing what people need” and listen.
    •       Complete the missions in Afghanistan and Iraq…Period!
    •       Fix our economic situation with homeless and under educated, drawing down international aid to make this happen. When poverty is ended in America, we can worry about the rest of the world.

    This is a good start…….

Submission 195

  • I would get back to what our Fore Fathers had in mind for us, Limited Government.

We need to get back to following our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

The people that we have voted into office are not working for their constituents WE THE PEOPLE. They are working for big business, their party and themselves. They want the power over us to do whatever they please.

We need to stop this, get back to our roots.

We need a smaller government with limited terms for all our representatives. We need a better fair tax system. We need to take care of all Americans before we give any money to other countries.

I am asking you to join me and many more Americans that believe in our country and want to make a real change, a change for the better for all of us. Go to www.fixingamerica.net check us out tell us how you feel.

Join us and make your voice heard about the issues that are important to you and your family. The more voices we have the louder we will be and we will be heard. We can make a differance. We need you.

Submission 193

  • I would secure our borders once and for all and stop letting in illegals.  Get back to the way it used to be and make sure people come legally so we can test them for diseases and make sure they speak English.  Also stop allowing illegals to come over here and have babies for free on our money and then let them be citizens.  You should be the citizen of the country your parents are from if your parents are illegal.  Period.  I would also stop taxing everything.  We pay too many taxes.  I wouldn't mind so much if our President and leaders stopped sending our tax money to other countries and re-invested it in our country. AND legal citizens should be able to go to college for free.

  • Hi! I am from India & would like to tell you if were President of India, what changes I'd like in the system.
First of all I would like to catch & ban all the beggers, from the airport to little places. They should not have children. So operate them for that. All these people will be taken to a special place built for them, give the professional training & let them earn but not by begging.
Secondly, have traffic rules which shouldn't be broken by people.
Thirdly people who spit or urinate on the roads or other open places are imposed heavy fines.
The Transport Dept should build nice roads with proper pavements.

Submission 190

  • I would take the dollar amount of all the bail-ouit money. Then divide by the number of people living in the United States. Then give each person that amount in a check, I think it would come to approximately 6,000 dollars each and a family of say two would get 12,000 dollars. This would spark the economy because we would all go spend it.

  • I would TRY to get rid of the IRS and replace it with a 5% National Sales Tax, eliminate ALL federal spending other than for the defense of the country both foreign and domestic, do away with all regulatory agencies thus causing a free market with a view to let private industry "solve" our problems, restore the death penalty for many more cases than it is currently used for federal crimes, restore government to the states so people could move to the state that had what they wanted.

Submission 183

  • What would it matter the president doesn't have too much control over anything but military actions. If I were president I would legalize marijuana and tax the heck out of it. Then put a tax on liquor sales. Form a government provided health care system for all and send in auditors for congress and house reps. let's see how much they are really worth. Then take over mexico and make them part of the U.S. then we wouldn't have to worry about the immigration from at least one country. But why does this matter the president doesn't really have much control, except to get all the blame when nothing is going right. At least when I have put in my 4 years I can retire with the same amount of pay and full time bodyguards.

Submission 179

  • If I were President I would want to take immediate action to ensure the health of all citizens. If we put health on the back burner we just refuse to recongnize that we are human. If we are sick, what use are we to society as a whole? Obesity is running rampid in the U.S. and in most countries of the world. If all our citizens are sick or on the way of becoming sick how can we continue to operate the country at all? We cannot ignore health and it should be a top priority of all nations. Life is all we have, what good does money, fame etc. mean if we are not healthy. Their are solutions and their is a big babyboomer generation out their that can help put a plan in motion to save the world from this terrible pandemic.

Submission 177

  • I would be pushing for legislation to nationalize CitiCorp, Bank Of America, AGI and all the other big banks. The only way the executives of these banks will be able to see main street America is for them to join the ranks of the unemployed. In the beginning and still at present, the executives have been doing "business as usual" with bonuses and  extravagant outings ( AIG/ $86000 for a partridge hunting fling in England). Using taxpayers money for these purposes had no impact on their business dealings.

Submission 174

  • I would start by regulating the EPA and USDA, in order to stop the influx of contaminated food that seems to be so prevalent.
I would next issue an executive order to the Department of Justice, and all other subsidiary executive branch offices, effectively ending the PATRIOT Act. And another to follow ensuring the active rights of gun ownership, without a ban on automatics.
Then, I would focus on the deficit, and encourage states to adopt a legalized approach to gambling. Instead of seeing a small portion of the proceeds going to education like in the lottery, I would work on a 50/50 bill with the respective legislatures to ensure that half of the profits would go back into the states' coffers.
That would be just the start. Not only do we need money to get us out of this global recession, we need to stop borrowing money internationally. Playing the futures has taught us a hard lesson. I would reinvigorate our economy by expanding government owned production facilities, water distribution centers, steel mills, etc.
Finally, I would nationalize healthcare to a standard that would be beneficial to all. Instead of having HSA's or HMO's, we would have staff doctors in private hospitals whom get paid a salary directly from the government.

  • I would pass the laws hat tithing was mandatoiry for every one, but the whole idea behind this is, that if it were a voluntary thing of the heart, and the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing;  our county would have the Lords blessing and there would be no poverty, we would be by far the wealthiest, most powerful.  This kind of Wisdom would not fly because of the separation of church and state idea but if the government would take some of the Wisdom from the Bible it couldn't do wrong.

Submission 165

  • 1)  Make the entire southern border of the U.S. a military base.  This would be ideal for army and national guard training.  A "wall" is not a bad idea.

    2)  Make a declaration that socialism will never be implemented as a strategy ever again now, and for future presidents.  Deviation from this equals only a hanging.

    3)  If you are not a citizen of the U.S., you are to be returned to your nation immediately, as well as your children.  Being born in the U.S. now has a new meaning.  Emotional arguments are not necessary.

    4)  Audit every single member of government nation-wide on every level.  You are the law-makers, and have people with guns and hand-cuffs to support you; we the people don't--accountability is now on your shoulders.

    5)  Re-establish a difference between military law and civilian law.  To take a military combatant, and subject him to US civilian law is a joke, and not at all in the best interest of the country.  There is a difference between those that are on our soil, and those that are not.

...I have plenty more to say...

  •  I WOULD HAVE DISSEMINATED THE STIMULUS FUNDS GIVEN TO THE BANKS, CREDIT COMPANIES, LOBBYISTS, EARMARKS, ETC. BACK TO THE PEOPLE. IF EVERY 'LEGAL' TAX-PAYING HOUSEHOLD IN THIS COUNTRY RECEIVED THESE PAYOUTS IT WOULD EQUAL APPROXIMATELY $30,000 PER. IF THE PEOPLE HAD THIS MONEY THERE WOULD NOT BE AN ECONOMICAL CRISIS. MORTGAGES AND BILLS WOULD BE PAID AND MONEY WOULD BE SPENT.

  • I would stop these programs that are suppose to "save America", but in reality put a debt burden on our children.  I would stay out of other countries business unless they actually wanted our help.  I would open up free world trade.  I would keep our freedoms in America.... the average person does not need all these "laws".  I would get rid of welfare - or at least reduce it to the dire in need.  I would stop the state wide testing in schools - it only forces the schools to teach to the test to receive government funding.  I would go back to the "real American dream".... and I would be the first  WOMAN American President!

Submission 162

  • I would make an injection rooms for all certified drug addicts where they will get injection by professional doctor for free. Drugs will be sourced from drug busts and will undergo thorough medical and chemical checking. This way drug related crime will cease to exist as addicts will not be in need to steal and rob to get another shot. Drug cartels will not get their money and even lose their drugs. This will give a chance to provide rehabilitation services to people who otherwise may avoid it.

Let's face it: drug addicts are sick people. There's only two ways out: give it up or die. If addict is not curable then at least we would be able to monitor him/her. If they will shed a light of hope then this program will help them.

Submission 161

  • I would help the American people stay out of debt by putting a cap on the amount of interest companies are allowed to impose for charge cards and any kind of loans. Home loans would be no higher than about 8 % and personal loans and charge cards maybe no higher than 12-15 %. This is one reason so many Americans are in the situations they are in. I am one of them. By putting caps on these type of loans, it would make things more affordable for the long term in case of job losses, layoffs, etc. It isn't rocket science, but a simple way to move forward in helping fix the economy and keeping the big CEO's of companies from running away with millions each year for a salary.

Submission 160

  • I'd take the trillions of dollars in this bail out package and divide it evenly between tax-paying households....that would stimulate the economy!
People would pay their mortgages...pay their credit cards...and spend money....that would get things moving.
I think there is more to be exposed yet in these big businesses, banks and the government, and I don't think it's fair for the middle class person to have to foot the bill!
While I'm all for helping people, I don't think hand-outs are the answer for the poor of this country...a hand up is the answer.  And illegal immigrants, I'm sorry we can't be responsible for you and your children until we can handle our own people and their children!
