I would strictly hold to the beliefs the founding fathers of our country held to.

Submission 145

  • I'd tax all wars!

Posted by Tomas (Sweden) on 15 December 2008.

Submission 144

  • I would divide the police force into even more specialised services and the first thing I would do is have a section to deal with anti social behaviour, the 'Silliness' police. If you do something that is basically unacceptable you would be punished with some good old  humiliation, stocks would be my favourite. Shove the idiots in stocks in a nice public place and let everyone see how stupid they look now. Kick over a garbage can, pelt them with rotten cabbages, graffiti, just old tomatoes will do.
Then I'd ban rose bushes from public gardens, or anywhere the owners of these malicious plants don't do their own pruning and I'd start a World campaign to abolish 'roundabouts' at road junctions.

  • I would immediately do two things.
    1. I would send out the following url to everybody in the country. It will help us save millions of wasted hours every year writing and processing ineffective emails.
    http://www.balancedinnovator.com/email
    2. I would ask everybody to undertake a personal development program like The Balanced Life, helping the whole country become more successful and content in all that we do.

  • If I were the President, I woudn't be a ceiling to people's lives, but I'd rather be a way through to their solutions.
I woudn't go behind them, but ahead to prepare the land/at,atmosphere for their well being.
I'd take fair decision especially based on what I saw is lying ahead and dangerous for their lives.
There wouldn't be a lot of unnecessary loss of lives and expenditure because of aids/crime/drugs and alcohol addiction because solution is there.
There would be no poverty, no street kids, no widows nor orphans etc

Submission 139

  •  If I were President of USA, I would do the following things to ensure peace, love & happiness unto the whole world.
     1. Get the rest of the world not to fear & hate USA but to love & admire it, by getting rid of America's patronising attitude towards all the other nations in the world. That way he would have eliminated the chances & fears of a repeat of something like the September 11 attacks.
    2. Stop dividing the world along ideological lines & religious factions. He needs to be a secular leader, friendly to all sides.
    3. Speed up nuclear disarmament until all weapons stockpiles are gone in this generation.
    4. Develop an economy that makes profit from peace instead of depending on arms & arms dealing like it is doing now.
    5. Take the side of the world's dispossessed people, who only now are seeing the possibility of a decent life in India, China, southeast Asia, and much of Russia.
    6. Help Africa obtain humane conditions through sustainable development & eradication of poverty & instill democratic principles into the minds of all African leaders. He also needs to help Africa bridge the digital divide.
    7. Stop exploiting other nations' resources like oil, gold & diamonds whilst hiding under disarmament or peace keeping missions.
    8. Stop considering myself like the President of the whole world like what  most American presidents do because most nations will hate me if I do that. True by virtue of  being the President of the most powerful nation I will be the most powerful man in the world but for global peace's sake I will set a precedent & humble myself & rule the world with love.
    9. Restore ethics & integrity into the financial bodies like IMF & World Bank so that they don't employ economic hitman to exploit & destabilise other nations' economies.
    10. Facilitate for peace in all the warring nations around the globe.

Submission 138

  • I would stop giving hand-outs to people who aren't citizens and NOT allow people's children to be citizens unless the parents were citizens at the time of birth. That would trim a lot of fat off our indigent health care and welfare systems and discourage people from illegally crossing into our country to try and have their kids here.

  • Americans want to know how they are going to live and their freedom move forward. Americans don"t want to hear about the Good Old Boys club behind close doors. They want to hear from the Good old American Boys and Girls. I would work with Free Enterprise to create a United States Constitution Utopia, where everyone excercises their unalienable rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.

    dump foreign affairs

Submission 133

  • This exercise assumes that my party controls both the House and a filibuster proof Senate.

I would start drug testing all people on welfare and government assistance.  First strike is a warning, second strike-offer free rehab and third strike your out of the system for five years.  Mandatory community service for all people on welfare and government assistance unless they work at least 40 hours a week.  Some exceptions would apply.

I would increase the penalties on American business's that hire illegal aliens where it is actually cost prohibitive for said companies and the fines increase dramatically with every violation.  With no jobs, aliens have no source of money to send home and they will leave voluntarily.  I would offer a seasonal work permit for Mexicans and other South Americans that would be strictly enforced as to when they arrive and when they leave and must be hosted by the company for which they will work.

I would increase the size of the military so we can effectively face the challenges of the 21st century and beyond.  I would increase funding for future weapons projects with an emphasis on effective waste over site. I would end our funding for the United Nations and render them to the dustbin of history.

I would establish the fair-tax system that would actually make the tax code somewhat more fair and less complex.   I would implement the “right to work” status on all 50 states and have greater regulations and over site of unions and eliminate all union funds going to political campaigns.  Pro-union states traditionally have the highest tax rates, unemployment rates and welfare systems than other states that have the right to work status.  Unions with less power and the elimination of the corporate tax would help keep corporations from leaving the United States and thus the jobs that go with them.

I would set a ten year plan that would require nuclear energy, wind farms, clean coal technology
and natural gas to account for at least 70% of the United States energy needs.  I would allow the oil industry to drill on the shelf and ANWR to further increase supply of fossil fuels while lowering the price.  Offer financial rewards to companies that discover and invent new technologies that will further eliminate our dependance on foreign oil.

I would impose term limits on Congress to two, four year terms (change from 2 year terms) and limit Senators to two, six year terms.  I would eliminate all congressional pork barrel spending and require an election for any pay raise for a member of congress.

  •  I'd give everyone $10,000.00 a piece as a sure economy booster. I don't care how much you owe the government, every person will get a check. Everyone will be happy, so they will spend it on food, clothes, cars, drugs, whatever. So much for the bail out lie.

  • I would cut military spending a ton. We spend so much money housing troops in other countries. Our problem is that we are too concerend about what other countries are doing. Let other countries do what they want and let them be. Now if they come attack us, we will bomb them but I say we wait till they attack and not try to control them.

  • I would do several things
I would budget effectively, and focus on protecting the people I represent, tax payers.
I would be careful about which global affairs I get my country involved in. Isolation is not the same thing as non-intervention.
I would stop spending money on useless pork barrel projects
I would give states the right to decide their educational goals and abolish the NCLB
I would learn my country's history from those of the oppressed.
Finally, I would listen and act according to what my people are protesting.

  • Being female, I would chastise the American press for focusing on Sarah Palin's hair and wardrobe rather than her political views.
The press seems to care more about what label she's wearing than what her Presidential running mate, John McCain, would do if he became President.
We still live in such sexist times.

  • Right after they ambushed the 3 Blackwater mercs in Iraq, and dragged them through the streets, and hung their bodies on the bridge,  I would have given the order to have our Air Force level a half mile radius from the point of ambush!  Sending a very firm and strong message to anyone who messes with Americans, civilian or military, that this kind of inhumane behavior won't be tolerated.

Submission 110

  • I would:
1)kick politicians out of Washington and cap all spending for political office and make it illegal to use personal funds to buy an election
2)require public accountability by all members of Congress
3)secure our borders using our military
4)withdraw all troops from every nation and make them available for border patrol
5)require US companies to maintain their physical plants within US borders or cease to be a US corporation
6)eliminate 1/2 of all IRS agents and institute a flat tax
7)drill for oil anywhere in the US that it is found
8)reduce oil companies current profits to less than 1/2 the current amount
9)require current technology be utilized to install solar power for all businesses and homes on a sliding cost scale so that all could afford to implement cost-effective heating/cooling
10)make every member of the justice system, from the lowliest assistant district attorney to the Supreme Court Justices legally responsible for their actions and punishment to be a swap for the sentence of the one/s they unlawfully incarcerated.
That wouldn't cure all of the US ailments, but it would be a damn good start for the first day in office.

Submission 106

  • If I were president, I would make sure that this country was safe, by first closing the borders and giving the border agents more authority to do their job, and  I would let Ramos and Campean out of prison cause they were only doing their jobs.

Then I would lower taxes to stimulate the economy, stop pussy footing around with the war on terror, win it by untying the hands of the troops....then bring them home to protect the homeland.

I would then collect the debts to us owed by other countries and then get congress to work on paying down on the national debt, while getting the states to do their share in keeping this country safe.

I would make English the national language, because it has been proven throughout history, that a bilingual country cannot thrive.  I would make America a force to be respected again..

Submission 104

  • The reality is the decisions I think I would make to day would not neccessarily be the ones I would make in office. From the outside looking in its easy to solve all the problems when when you sit in the chair and you get all the detail about what's happening I think reality sets in.
This is the very reason why politician promise us and NEVER deliver.

Posted by Shermster (USA) on 12 September 2008.

Submission 103

  • If I were “President” I would first admit that we are living in a cloud of broken promises and lies; remove the rose colored glasses and announce that we as a nation are no longer independent and the question of, if we are really “free” would be on the fore front of my thoughts.

First, I would strive to do away with a “one person” head of our country; America does not need a King and Queen.  What we do need is, to do away with both the Republican and Democratic parties by having citizens vote on a committee of men and women to replace the one “King”.  Secondly, the committee members could be voted out at any time if they were not doing their job.

However, these words are written from a dream state of mind.  Nothing in America will change until the entire infrastructure of our government is totally changed.  We keep doing the same things and we keep failing.

One thing for certain, if you place your hand in a bucket of water and expect to find a hole left in the water.  The promises we hear today will be like that hole, there will be no hole in the water and there will be no or few promises fulfilled by anyone who in running for president.

Submission 101

  • That's a big order....I would have to have myself an army that would do whatever I wanted no matter what. And with that, I would then get rid of all the greedy, sticky finger, politicians, that there are. I would go after any and all organizations that were affiliated with over sea's dealings and put that work effort to better use by keeping it here in the States. I would help the needy and try to get them back on their feet and well as give them back some if not all of the respect that they once had. We are currently letting the dogs take us out on a lease and it should be the other way around! I believe that the oil industry should be played by our own team of individuals and not some sole partnership. We should all be able to live a decent life and not have to worry about items that we all use on a day to day basis.
