IF I WERE PRESIDENT

What would YOU do if you were President ?

13 May 2008

We have now received 23 submissions, and have added a discussion forum per a suggestion from a visitor. Everyone is encouraged to take part in the discussion forum. The site regularly receives hits from all over the world, with an average of 35 hits/day. Hits come from yahoo and google, as well as from links from certain websites. All in all, traffic is going well. Hopefully, word of mouth will help this site gain in popularity, and increase the number of visitors. Also, please note that increased traffic does not mean increased revenue or any advantage other than notoriety. This site is entirely funded privately by its creator, and no profit, other than intellectual curiosity, is sought.

Thanks to Mariah, who pointed out a broken link while sending in a submission, a Thank You page has been added for those who have submitted.

A renewed site not only needs to be relaunched, but should be improved. This new version has been "sexed" up with an improved front page, complete with quotes and a poll that will go on until the results of the US Presidential elections are published. The new site also features a picture of the White House; additional pictures will be added every now and then. An effort will be made to add contract to the page, possibly through the use of red-tone pictures.

After 8 months of absence, the site is back and running again, in preparation for the US elections. NOW is the time when you can state what you would do if you were president. Not necessarily of the the United States, just President in general. We post all submissions as we want YOUR opinion to be voiced (except, obviously, openly offensive submissions). Please also feel free to contact us if you have any questions/queries.

We look forward to knowing what YOU would do if YOU were PRESIDENT.

The website has been launched for about a month and a half, and its success and reach is definitely increasing. Visitor statistics indicate that although a majority of visitors are US-based, a significant amount of visitors come from Australia, the United Kingdom and Asia. The site has received 15 submissions of varying lengths, yet covering a variety of topics and also reflecting the international reach of this site. Please spread the word about this project!

5 July 2007

The site has been up for 24 hours now, and the Independence Day results are out: 30 visitors and 2 submissions, which is, we believe, a good start. Hopefully, as the number of submissions grows, people's interest will be aroused. The aim would be to obtain a number of regular visitors from around the world. For information purposes, donations are NOT accepted, as we believe it may constitute a conflict of interest. We have subscribed to a link referral program to generate traffic; however, this does not provide revenue, and feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive. Stay tuned!

Happy Independence Day to the United States! Today is also if-i-were-president.org's launch date! And here it is! A brand new website, completely independent, non-partisan and international! As you can see, the current layout is a little basic, as we used a template. However, the priority of the site is its content, and not design (although we may modernize its look at a later date). Hopefully, this site will gain in popularity and will attract an increasing number of people willing to express their ideas. It is up to you, the visitor, to help this site by spreading the news through word of mouth. Please help this site by telling all your friends about it, and above all, by submitting YOUR ideas. Comments are also appreciated: feel free to email us at contact [at] if-i-were-president.org by replacing the [at] with @. Thank you for visiting, and come back often to check the latest submissions!
